The QS World University Rankings 2018, published today, places AUT in the top 450 universities in the world.
It is the second consecutive year that AUT features in the 441-450 range, putting us in the top 2 per cent of universities worldwide.
The QS rankings show that AUT’s international outlook remains strong, with the university now ranked #29 in the world for attracting international students, up four places from the previous year. AUT’s reputation for attracting international academic staff was also acknowledged, with the university retaining its ranking of #64 in the world.
Advancing 68 places on last year’s rankings, AUT is now ranked #325 in the world by QS for employer reputation.
These latest rankings follow the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2017, published earlier this year in April. The THE ranked AUT as one of the world’s top 150 young universities, based on the quality of teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income. AUT also features as one of the worlds' top millennial universities (those founded in the 21st century) - ranked as number 1 in Australasia and 14 in the world.
The QS World University Rankings have been published since 2004. This year QS considered more than 4,000 universities before evaluating 980 of them. It remains the only global ranking to have been independently scrutinised and IREG Approved.
